A paper presented by Thornbrough at the 1986 Indiana Historical Society Spring Conference, and a response to the paper by Richard J.M. Blackett, an Indiana University history professor. Thornbrough examines civil rights organizations, laws and legislation, and political and social issues relating to public accommodations in Indiana during the middle third of the 20th century.
